Yes. If your task has been cancelled and you still need it completed, you can repost it, receive new offers and assign another Tasker.
If the task is still assigned to your original Tasker, start with the cancellation guidance below. If it’s already cancelled, go straight to “How do I repost my cancelled task?”
My task is still assigned to the original Tasker
If your Tasker can no longer complete the work, hasn’t turned up or is unresponsive, you can submit a cancellation request yourself. You don’t need to wait for the Tasker to submit one.
If no cancellation request has been submitted
- Log in to Airtasker and open the task.
- Select More options → Cancel task.
- Follow the prompts, choose the reason that accurately describes what happened and add a comment explaining the situation.
- Submit your cancellation request.
The Tasker has 48 hours to accept or reject your request. If they accept, the task is cancelled immediately. If they don’t respond within 48 hours, it is cancelled automatically.
If the Tasker has already requested cancellation
Review the cancellation request and select Accept if you want to proceed. Check the stated reason carefully and indicate whether you agree or disagree when prompted.
Submitting a request does not mean cancellation is complete. Check the task’s status before moving on to the reposting steps.
For more information, see How do I cancel my task? and What happens when I cancel a task?.
How do I repost my cancelled task?
You can use the cancelled task’s details to create a new post:
- Open the cancelled task.
- Select More options.
- Choose Post a Similar Task on a web or mobile browser, or Copy Task in the app.
- Review the details and update the date, budget or requirements as needed before posting.
Can I invite a particular Tasker to make an offer?
Yes. Visit their public profile and select Request a Quote . Choose your new task and write a short message about the work you need completed.
Once you've done this, the Tasker will receive a notification to let them know that you want their offer on your task.
Requesting a quote does not automatically assign the task or guarantee the Tasker’s availability. Your new task remains public, so other interested Taskers can also make offers.
How do I assign a Tasker to my new post?
Once you receive offers:
- Open your new task and select the Offers tab.
- Review the offers and clarify any requirements with the Tasker before accepting.
- Select Accept Offer for your chosen Tasker.
Make sure the Tasker understands the work and can meet your requirements before you assign them.
What if I can’t accept an offer?
If you’re having trouble assigning a task for the first time or accepting an offer on your new post, see Why can’t I assign my task? for troubleshooting.
