Why we check your right to work
Recent legislative changes in the UK require platforms like Airtasker to check that Taskers have the right to work. So, when you verify your account, we'll now ask you to confirm your right to work along with your identity. You can keep making offers and completing tasks while your check is in progress, but we're unable to release your payouts until it's complete.
What you'll need
- If you have a British or Irish passport: You can use it to confirm both your identity and your right to work. You won't need anything else.
- If you don't: You'll need a Home Office share code, plus one of these government-issued documents: driver's licence, passport, national ID or voter ID.
How to get a share code
You can get a share code from the UK Government website: Get a share code online.
What happens if your right to work has an end date
You only need to complete the full check once. Some right to work checks have an end date. If yours does, you'll see it on the 'Verify Account' screen in Settings. To refresh your right to work check before it expires, select 'Update your Right to Work status' and enter a new share code. You won't need to verify your identity again. If your right to work expires and you do not refresh it with us, we'll be unable to release your payouts until you do.
