- Make sure you have good lighting when using or mobile or website camera
- Hold your camera steady
- Ensure the photo isn’t blurry
We can only verify an ID if it’s captured clearly. If your photo isn’t verified, you’ll receive feedback with a specific reason (e.g., poor lighting). Try to resolve the issue and try again.
Mismatched information (First name/Last name/Date of birth)
- The name you submit for both your tax profile and ID verification matches exactly with your name on the ID you provide.
- Use your legal name (no nicknames or abbreviations)
- Edit your tax information in Trolley (our third-party provider who collects and manages tax data) or ensure your details match
- Double-check that all details (first name, middle names, last name, date of birth) are identical across your tax profile and verified ID document before you confirm your submission
If there’s a mismatch of information, you will not be able to verify your account. Please make sure that the details you’ve entered are correct and match your ID document and Airtasker account.
Unable to verify the photo (Lighting/User error)
- Use good lighting
- Follow the instructions carefully
If your photo isn’t verified, you’ll receive a specific reason (e.g., poor lighting or incorrect positioning).
What happens if I fail ID verification?
If you do not successfully verify your account after 3 attempts, your account will be flagged for review and you may receive an email with the next steps.
