When you are assigned a task that you have placed an offer on, the service fee will be charged to you. Upon completing the task, your payment, with the service fee already deducted, will be released to your bank account.
How is the service fee calculated?
Your service fee for each task you offer will be calculated according to your current “tier.” The service fee can range from 10 to 20% of the task price.
How can I tell what my service fee is?
When you make an offer on a task, the full breakdown of the service fee will be displayed so you can make sure the task is right for you.
You can look back at your payment history in your account at any time for a specific breakdown of the fee for each task you’ve completed.
How do I reduce my service fee?
The higher your tier, the lower your fee. To learn more about the specifics of tiers, please see Tasker tier.
How do I pay the service fee?
The fee will only be applied once you’ve been assigned to the task - if you don’t win the task, you won’t pay.
After the task has been completed and the Poster releases payment, you’ll then receive the task payment, minus the service fee.
Why do you charge a service fee?
Running the Airtasker marketplace incurs expenses, and in order to sustain its operations and expansion, we implement a service fee on all transactions.
The service fee is utilized to cover various costs, including the maintenance of secure payment systems, implementation of fraud protection measures, and delivery of support services. Additionally, these fees enable us to enhance our technology and marketing efforts, thereby presenting you with a wider range of task opportunities.
