Airtasker requires full fixed-price payments for tasks, disallowing partial or commission-based payments. Payments must be made via Mastercard or VISA and are held securely in an Airtasker Trust Account until task completion. Cash payments are not supported, except for tips or reimbursed material costs with receipts. Users must keep accurate payment details updated to ensure smooth transactions.
To ensure a safe and rewarding environment for all members of the Airtasker community, it’s important to understand how pricing and payments work:
No partial payments
Please set your budget and review offers from Taskers based on the full scope of your task. Once you accept an offer, the agreed task price plus the connection fee will be the total amount you need to pay. Tasks that propose partial payment, such as sales or commission-based tasks, are not allowed and may be moderated or removed.
- Example 1:Julia posted a task and received an offer from Alberto, who said, "It's hard to estimate the time needed, so I prefer hourly rates. My offer is 5 hours at £20 per hour, but we can finalise the price after the task is done." Alberto was informed that his comment breaks our Guidelines, and Julia was reminded to accept only offers with a fixed total price per task.
- Example 2: Kurt posted a task saying, "Sign up for our induction program and get cash." His post was cancelled because it was commission-based, offering money for completing an action.
Airtasker Payment Account
Airtasker does not support cash payments. When an offer is accepted, the task amount plus the connection fee are charged to a Mastercard or VISA card and held securely in an Airtasker Trust Account until task completion. Payments must be made through Airtasker, except for tips, material costs, and purchases made by the Tasker, which can be reimbursed directly with a receipt. Taskers should clearly state these costs in their offer. External payments outside these exceptions are not allowed.
- Example 3: Vince was assigned to finish Henry’s painting job. Upon arrival, Vince demanded extra payment, claiming the Airtasker fee was only for inspection. This is not allowed, and Airtasker can assist Henry in cancelling the task and refunding his payment.
Once the Tasker finishes, they’ll request fund release and you’ll be notified to pay. Only release payment after full completion to allow our team to assist if issues arise.Airtasker Pay guarantees the safety and security of all community members.
