In the UK, Airtasker charges a Connection Fee when assigning a Tasker, separate from the Tasker service fee. Fees range from £4.95 to £39.95 based on task price and are waived for Airtasker members. The fee covers platform services and maintenance. It’s fixed upon assignment, unaffected by price changes or bonuses. Cancellation refunds depend on responsibility, with fees retained if the customer cancels. Tax invoices for Connection Fees can be obtained via the Airtasker website.

Customers pay a Connection Fee when assigning a Tasker to a task. The Connection Fee is only charged once the task is assigned to the Tasker you select. This Connection Fee is separate from the Tasker Service fee paid by a Tasker.
Why charge a Connection Fee?
The Connection Fee covers the service of Airtasker, providing the platform. It also helps us invest in new tools and features, supporting Taskers to maximise their skills and covering ongoing platform maintenance.
How much is the Connection Fee?
If you have an Airtasker customer membership, Connection Fees are waived. Connection Fees start at GBP £4.95 and depending on the Task Price, can go up to a maximum of GBP £39.95. The Connection Fee is inclusive of VAT.

Where can I view the Connection Fee charged?
You will be shown a breakdown of the Connection Fee and the total amount charged when you assign the task and make payment. To assist with terminology:
- Task Price - is the amount that the Tasker is willing to do the job for.
- Connection Fee - refers to the fixed amount payable to Airtasker for that particular task as outlined in the above table. It is determined based on the Task Price and does not change once the task has been assigned. The Connection Fee is inclusive of VAT.
- Total Charge - the total amount you will pay (being the Task Price + Connection Fee) using your selected payment method when you click "Securely hold funds".
Note: If you have Airtasker credits in your account, these will be applied to the total charge first, and the remaining difference (if any) will be charged to your selected payment method.

Will I be charged an additional fee if I change the price or give my Tasker a bonus?
The Connection Fee is fixed at the amount shown to you when it was assigned. An additional Connection Fee will not be charged on any price changes or Tasker bonuses.
What happens if a task is cancelled?
After a task is cancelled, your payment will be returned to your original payment method.
Note: If you are deemed responsible for the cancellation of the Task Contract, the Connection Fee will be retained by Airtasker and not refunded with the Task Price. See the Cancellation policy for more information.
Please note that if you hold an active Airtasker customer membership and the Connection Fee on your Task Price was waived (£0), the Cancellation Fee will be calculated as equal to what the Connection Fee would have been, had the Poster not had an active Airtasker customer membership (see above table for guidance).
Can I get a valid tax invoice for the Connection Fee?
To get a valid tax invoice for just the Connection Fee component of your payment, follow the steps below:
- Log in to Airtasker.com
- Select my tasks
- Click on the relevant task
- Click More options
- Choose Task Receipt
