At Airtasker, we're big on scam safety. Scams are deliberately designed to deceive you. If you notice anything suspicious, such as unusual messages, posted tasks or behaviour, please report it. The more eyes on the lookout, the safer the whole Airtasker community is.
What to look for
🚩 Posted tasks instructing users to visit an external website to submit sensitive financial information.
🚩 Suspicious offers, questions, or comments, including a call to action like requesting payment or verification via an external URL.
🚩 Users with unusual display names, claiming to be "Airtasker Support". They often look similar to official communications but aren’t quite right.
How Airtasker keeps you safe
✅ We will never send you an unsolicited email, message or SMS asking for banking information, passwords or other sensitive data.
✅ We only release payment when the Customer is satisfied with the Tasker's work.
✅ We show reviews and ID Verification to help you find the best Tasker for the job.
When in doubt
If something seems suspicious, follow these steps to keep yourself safe:
- Don't click any links
- Don't open any attachments you weren't expecting, especially if it's attached to a suspicious message
- Flag suspicious activity when you see it by clicking "Report this task"
