Just a heads up, this information is relevant for Australia and New Zealand ONLY.
For Customers and Taskers to work together with utmost trust and confidence we’ve introduced the ID Verified Badge. This is a badge displayed next to the user’s name if they’ve successfully completed our ID verification process.
What does it mean to be ID verified?
Our ID verification process confirms the user’s identity has been verified through our third-party provider. This process includes reviewing a government-issued photo ID document and (as of October 2024) conducting a live biometric facial scan.
Examples of valid ID documents that are typically used include:
-
Passport
-
Driver licence
When conducting a biometric facial scan, we ask users to take a three-point scan of their face (front, left and right sides) and use AI facial matching against the ID document to ensure their face matches the photo on their ID document.
A multitude of checks are conducted during this process, including ID document validity, liveness detection (by a human) during the facial scan, checks for fraud, ID tampering and more.
Why are some users showing ID verified and others are not?
ID verification is not mandatory for Customers, but we highly encourage it so that our Taskers can feel more confident when making offers.
For Taskers, ID verification is not required to make offers. However, given the changes in recent tax laws, we do require Taskers to complete the ID verification before we release payments to them.
