What happens if I breach the Community Guidelines? A guide for customers – Airtasker Help Centre

Airtasker is committed to building a community that is enjoyable and safe for all. This commitment is grounded on the principles of transparency and respect.

Our Community Guidelines outline the values and standards of behaviour we expect from the Airtasker Community. Posters and Taskers agree to these guidelines and Terms & Conditions when they create an Airtasker account.

As the Community Guidelines promote a safe and rewarding experience of using the Airtasker platform, we take breaches of these guidelines very seriously. Members that breach the Community Guidelines may have their Airtasker account limited or deactivated indefinitely.

What does account limitation mean?

If your account is limited, you will no longer be able to make comments, post tasks or be assigned new tasks. However, you are still able to complete the open tasks already assigned to you.

What does account deactivation mean?

If your account is deactivated, you will not be able to log into your account. You will not be able to make comments, post tasks or be assigned new tasks. Any tasks you’ve assigned but have not been completed may be cancelled and the task funds returned to you.

Airtasker may take different actions on a case by case basis, however, please note that Airtasker reserves the right to limit or deactivate any account at its absolute discretion and any limitations placed on your account do not waive our other rights under the Terms & Conditions.

Once an account has been limited or deactivated, if any duplicate or additional accounts are identified, they will be removed.

To provide transparency, we’ve outlined some activities which are a breach of our Community Guidelines and may result in action being taken against an Airtasker account.

Activity	Description
Ignoring task posting guidelines	Postings that are not supported by the Airtasker Community Guidelines. Continuously posting spam tasks Repeatedly posting unsupported tasks after being warned Repeatedly posting adult, assignments or illegal tasks. You can find our Task posting guidelines here.
Publicly sharing/requesting private information	Sharing/requesting contact information before an offer is accepted.
Pricing & Payments	Offer prices: Accepting a partial offer (a price that is for completing only part of the services you require). Cash: Offering or making payments in cash, whether in the comments or private messages. Learn more about pricing and payments here.
Ignoring requests for information from Airtasker	Unanswered requests for information from Airtasker. Especially when you are involved in an insurance claim, payment dispute or have breached the Community Guidelines.
Account eligibility (a)	Below 18 years old All members of the Airtasker community must be 18 years or older. This is a legal requirement as people under this age are not able to enter a legal contract with Airtasker or other members of the Airtasker community. Airtasker reserves the right to request proof of age if necessary and limit your account until we are satisfied that you have met this requirement.
Identification requested	Ignoring or not complying with requests for identification verification. Often we need to receive identification from a member for the following reasons: Validating identity for credit card check/payment verification Investigating duplicate accounts Make sure personal information is accurate (falsifying information or sharing accounts is not allowed) Checking for impersonation, including: - Using someone else’s personal information. - Using a different identity to operate duplicate accounts. - Impersonating Airtasker staff Sockpuppeting (setting up fake accounts for fraud). If you’re unable to verify your identity upon request, your account may remain limited indefinitely.
Unacceptable behaviour	Being the subject of complaints from other members of the Airtasker Community. Our Trust and Safety team reserve the right to limit or deactivate an Airtasker account while they investigate the matter.
Payments	Making a chargeback Not withdrawing a chargeback after contact from Airtasker
Fraudulent and/or illegal activity	Being reported or found to be committing, having committed or been complicit in fraudulent and/or illegal activity on the platform (including coupon and review fraud)**
Account eligibility (b)	Creating and operating more than one Airtasker account Creating and operating an Airtasker account after the first account was limited or deactivated Sale or transfer of an Airtasker account Read more about account eligibility and administration here.
Inappropriate behaviour	Any of the following behaviours towards other community members or Airtasker staff: Threatening or unwanted contact. Abusive or inappropriate language (threats, trolling, sexual) Inciting or threatening to incite hatred, violence, discrimination, sexual/adult based activity

** Coupon and review fraud:

Fraudulent Airtasker reviews
Artificially inflating Airtasker profile with tasks and reviews
Failing to satisfy the terms and conditions of coupon redemption

Post Community Guidelines sign-off

You may need to sign off on the Airtasker Community Guidelines if you repeat a breach that you have already been warned about. This sign-off is written confirmation that you have read and understood the Airtasker Community Guidelines and what would happen if you breach them again.
