How can I verify my account?

For Taskers who earn more than a threshold this year

To stay compliant with US tax laws, you’ll need to complete both ID verification and submit your tax profile. This ensures we can also send you your 1099 form.

To verify your account, simply follow these steps:

1. Log into your Airtasker account: Open the Airtasker app or website and log in with your credentials.
2. Access settings: Click on your profile picture to open the menu, then select 'Settings'.
3. Select 'Verify Account': In the Settings menu, find and click on 'Verify Account'.
4. Verify your identity: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the identity verification process.
5. Submit your tax information: Provide the necessary tax information as prompted.
6. Complete the verification: Click 'Finish Verifying Your Account' to finalise the process.

Important: Please use your full legal name and exact date of birth as they appear on your official documents. This helps avoid any delays or issues with verification.

If you've changed your name and need to update your account details, you can do so by following these steps:

1. Re-verify your identity: Use a government-issued ID that documents your new legal name.
2. Update your tax information: If you go through the Submit Tax Information process again, please note that you will need to re-enter all of your details. This will create a new tax profile, and your previous tax profile will be voided

For Taskers who earn less than a threshold this year

If you haven’t reached the tax reporting threshold yet, both verifying your ID and submitting your tax profile are optional. That said, verifying your ID is strongly encouraged to help build trust with Customers and keep our community safe.

Submitting your tax profile is optional at this stage, but doing so can save you time later if your earnings increase.
