Just a heads up, this information is relevant for the United States ONLY.
To help keep the Airtasker community safe and build trust, we strongly encourage Taskers to verify their ID. Getting verified early helps you stand out to Customers and shows them you're genuine and ready to help.
Why ID verification matters
On Airtasker, many tasks involve in-person work, whether it's assembling furniture, helping with a move, or entering someone’s home. Verifying your identity helps Customers feel confident that they’re hiring someone genuine and trustworthy.
It also helps us:
- Maintain a safe and secure marketplace
- Prevent fraudulent activity or impersonation
- Support a positive experience for both Taskers and Customers
A common practice across platforms
ID verification is now a standard step on most trusted platforms, especially those that involve in-person services. It’s a small step that makes a big difference in creating a reliable experience for everyone.

How will users know that I am ID Verified?
Once verified, you’ll get an ID Verified badge on your profile and offers. The ID Verified badge will help you stand out and build trust with Customers.
What do I need to do?
You’ll be asked to complete a quick verification process by uploading a valid government-issued ID (such as a driver’s license or passport). This only takes a few minutes and can be done directly in your Airtasker account.
Once your ID is verified, you’ll be able to receive payments for completed tasks.
Please note; If you do not successfully verify your account after 3 attempts, your account will be flagged for review and you may receive an email with the next steps. For this reason, we recommend reviewing the How can I verify my account? guide closely, ahead of making multiple attempts, as this way you can avoid common mistakes and minimize/mitigate the chance of your account being flagged.
