Badges help to build trust in the Airtasker community and provide Posters with additional information when deciding who to work with on a task. When specific requirements are met, a badge is shown on a member’s profile.
There are four different types of badges on Airtasker:
- ID Badges
- Licence Badges (Australia only)
- Partner Badges (Australia only)
- Issued Badges
Please note that the Badges are issued based on a point-in-time check which means results only reflect relevant records on the date that the verification was completed. As a Poster, you can hover over the credential Badges to see the verification date (some of the basic Badges won't show a date).
If you engage a Badge holder for a Task, you should verify their current credentials prior to the task being carried out.

ID badges
ID badges are our way of showing that members are who they say they are. Everyone who holds one (or more) of these has verified their identity with us in some way, with different kinds of badges showing what’s been proven.
Here are the ID badges available right now:
ID Badge (Australia only) |
This Badge indicates that a member’s identity documents match the information on their Airtasker account. In Australia, it's called the Digital ID Badge and is verified online through Australia Post. The following details are verified:

Police Check (Australia only) |
A Police Check Badge is only added to a member’s profile if they do not have a Disclosable Court Outcome (i.e. the Airtasker Member has a clean police history check) as notified to Airtasker by a verification provider. The check is conducted by NCC (National Crime Check) and verified by a 3rd party verification provider. The following details are verified:

Working with Children (Australia only) |
A Working with Children Badge (name differs by state) is added to a member’s profile once their existing WWC check has been verified by a 3rd party verification provider. The following details are verified:

Payment method |
A member has added a payment method to their account. Please note that this represents that a payment method has been added. It does not indicate that payment credentials are verified. |
Mobile number |
A member has verified that they own the mobile number on their account. This is done by sending an SMS verification code to confirm the number is real and held by that member. |
Licence Badges (Australia only)
Licence Badges are our way of showing that Taskers hold the right professional qualifications and licences needed to complete a task.
Please note: we are currently not able to verify international trade licences.

An Electrical Badge is added to a Tasker’s profile once their existing licence has been verified by a 3rd party verification provider. The following details are verified:

A Gasfitting Badge is added to a Tasker’s profile once their existing licence has been verified by a 3rd party verification provider. The following details are verified:

Trades Insurance Badge |
A Trades Insurance Badge is added to a Tasker’s profile once their existing insurance policy details have been verified by an independent insurance broker. The following details are verified:

Partnership Badges (Australia only)
Partnership Badges are special campaigns with other companies. Currently, we have the IKEA Badge for furniture assembly. This badge is only available in Australia at the moment.

Issued Badges
Issued badges are specifically given by Airtasker to chosen Taskers that are found to provide distinguished and exceptional service.
Top Tasker Badges |
Top Tasker Badges are awarded to the winning recipients of Airtasker’s annual Tasker Awards program. The program recognises and rewards skilled Taskers who go above and beyond to provide outstanding service. Winners are chosen by their average rating, reviews, and completion rate. |
