How does pricing and payment work with bookings?

How does Airtasker figure out how much my booking should cost?

A team of 6 people spent 6 months doing a ton of work to figure out the right questions to ask in order to calculate the right price. This involved in-depth research on industry rates, talking to lots of Taskers, diving deep into our data on the marketplace and planning for unforeseen circumstances.  

This is why bookings use a special kind of form. This form clarifies almost all the information Taskers need to know about removals from the start. It then generates a fair price.

You’ll clearly see how much the task will cost before you confirm your details. Please make sure that you’re happy with the details you’ve provided before you confirm the details. There may be extra charges for adding items or services on after this point.

When does my card get charged?

Your card will be charged when a Tasker claims your booking and we finish processing it. This shouldn’t take longer than 24 hours after you have confirmed your booking details.

Is this the final price? Are there any other charges?

The price you see when you confirm your booking details is what your card will be charged once the booking is processed. That’s the price you’ll pay for the given task.

Please make sure that you’re happy with the details you’ve provided before you confirm the booking details. The Tasker won’t be accountable for anything that’s not listed in these details. There may be extra charges for adding items or services on after this point (you can manage this in the Airtasker app by selecting Increase price).
