Airtasker Badges

Badges help to build trust in the Airtasker community and provides Posters with additional information when deciding who to work with on a task. When specific requirements are met, a badge is shown on a member’s profile.

There are three different types of badges on Airtasker:

  1. ID Badges
  2. Licence Badges
  3. Partner Badges

Please note that the Badges are issued based on a point in time check which means results only reflect relevant records on the date that the verification was completed. As a Poster you can hover over the badge to see the verification date. If you engage a Badge holder for a Task, you should verify their current credentials prior to the task being carried out.

ID badges

ID badges are our way of showing that members are who they say they are. Everyone who holds one (or more) of these has verified their identity with us in some way, with different kinds of badges showing what’s been proven.

Here are the ID badges available right now: 

Digital ID

The Digital iD badge indicates that a member’s identity document has been verified with Australia Post’s Digital iD

The following details are verified:

  • Valid passport or driver's licence
  • Matching Airtasker profile name and DOB

Police Check

A Police Check Badge is only added to a member’s profile if they do not have a Disclosable Court Outcome (i.e. the Airtasker Member has a clean police history check) as notified to Airtasker by a verification provider. The check is conducted by NCC (National Crime Check) and verified by a 3rd party verification provider.

The following details are verified:

  • No disclosable outcomes on the Police Check
  • Matching Airtasker profile name and DOB to the Police Check result

Working with Children

A Working with Children Badge (name differs by state) is added to a member’s profile once their existing WWC check has been verified by a 3rd party verification provider.

The badge is only granted if the check is valid and includes a clearance to work with children in the applicable state.

The following details are verified:

  • Matching Airtasker profile name and DOB to the check
  • WWC credentials

 Payment method

A member has added a payment method to their account.

Please note that this represents that a payment method has been added. It does not indicate that payment credentials are verified.

Members are able to link their Facebook, Linkedin & Twitter account to Airtasker.

Members are required to log into their social accounts to add the badge(s) however no account details are retrieved/verified.

Licence Badges

Licence Badges are our way of showing that Taskers hold the right professional qualifications and licences needed to complete a task.

Electrical Badge

An Electrical Badge is added to a Tasker’s profile once their existing licence has been verified by a 3rd party verification provider.

The following details are verified:

  • Electrical Contractor Licence (relevant to the member’s state).
  • Matching Airtasker profile name to the licence

A Gasfitting Badge is added to a Tasker’s profile once their existing licence has been verified by a 3rd party verification provider.  

The following details are verified:

  • Gasfitting Contractor Licence (relevant to the member’s state).
  • Matching Airtasker profile name to the licence

An Asbestos Removal Badge is added to a Tasker’s profile once their existing licence has been verified by a 3rd party verification provider.

  • Asbestos Removal Badge (relevant to the Tasker’s state).
  • Matching Airtasker profile name to the licence

 Trades Insurance Badge

 A Trades Insurance Badge is added to a Tasker’s profile once their existing insurance policy details have been verified by an independent insurance broker.

The following details are verified:

  • Contractor Licence (relevant to the Tasker’s state)
  • Public liability insurance Certificate of Currency and policy schedule in line with the requirements of the Contractor Licence

Partnership Badges

Partnership Badges are special campaigns with other companies. Currently we have the IKEA Badge for furniture assembly and the Coles Badge for grocery delivery. 

Coles

A Coles badge is added to a member's profile once they have completed an online application and meet and maintain the following criteria: 

  • Have completed 2 or more tasks through Airtasker
  • Have a minimum Star Rating of 4.5 stars
  • Have a minimum Completion Rate of 80%

An Ikea badge is added to a members's profile once they meet and maintain the following criteria:

  • Have completed 4+ assembly tasks on the Airtasker platform
  • Have a Police Check Badge.
  • Matching Airtasker profile name to ID
  • Have a minimum star rating of 4 stars
  • Have a Completion Rate of 80% or above
  • Have an ABN added to their Airtasker profile
