What is the Digital iD Badge?

The Digital iD badge is confirmation that a member’s identity has been verified via Australia Post. It’s a secure way for members of the platform to prove they are who they say they are online.

The badge checks that a member’s details on Airtasker match their legal ID, and although those details aren’t made public, you can be sure that they’ve been internally confirmed.

The Digital iD application is free to all members, and can be obtained by Taskers and Posters alike. To apply, you’ll just need a current passport or drivers licence. Please be assured that Digital iD uses advanced encryption technology to safely guard your personal data.

FAQS:

Q: what is our work around for digital id badge without last name in passport?? I saw someone asking for ID (passport of the user to verify)

A:

- Ask the user to provide their ID (if it hasn’t already been provided).

- If it confirms what they are saying and the details match with what is shown on their profile, unrestrict and notify the user that to obtain the Digital ID badge, Aus Post requires the user to have a surname/matching details.

- Redact image.

Note: This will only apply this for users who aren’t committing CNP fraud or engaging in Illegal activity - breach of CG. If they are confirmed fraudulent or posting illegal tasks we can refuse to apply the badge, leave restricted and redirect to Aus Post.

In terms of breach of guidelines - this also includes whatever else we ID check them for and do not want them back on the platform. Like posting escort/sexual/adult tasks.
