How can I increase the price once the task is assigned?

For Posters:

Realized there’s more to be done or the task is more complicated than initially thought? Not to worry, increasing the task price is simple.

Once an offer has been accepted, either the Poster or Tasker can increase the task price, using the steps below.

There is no limit on the number of times you can submit a price increase with an overall maximum of $2500 and the service fee is applied to all price increases.

 

Desktop:

 
  1. On the task, select increase price above the green private message button.private_message.png
  2. Enter how much you’d like to add and mention why you’re increasing the price. 
  3. Once payment is made with Airtasker Pay the task price is automatically updated.

iOS/Android

  1. On the task, select increase price above the green private message button.

This feature is currently only available to increase the price. Should you need to decrease the task price, first have a chat with the other party through private messaging. Once you’ve agreed on a new price, contact us to assist. For more info on decreasing the price, see here.
 

For Taskers:

Desktop:

  1. First, chat about the price increase through private messaging - let the Poster know you’re going to do it and why. This will help them understand your reasoning.
  2. Then go to the task and select increase price above the green request payment buttonrequest-payment-web.png
  3. Enter how much you’d like to add and mention why you want to increase the price.
  4. Select continue.
  5. Wait for the Poster to accept the price change.
  6. Once accepted, the payment will be added and the task price automatically updated. 

Android/iOS:

  1. From the task, select increase price above the green request payment button.
  2. Enter how much you’d like to add and mention why you want to increase the price.
  3. Select continue.
  4. Wait for the Poster to accept the price change.
