Subscriptions are the easy way to get regular tasks done on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. In this article you will find answers to the following questions:
How much do subscriptions cost?
Subscriptions use a special kind of form, clarifying almost all the information Taskers need to know about your requirements. Our system then generates a fair price per task.
We spent lots of time and effort figuring out the right questions to ask in order to calculate the right price for each type of task. This involved in-depth research on industry rates, talking to lots of Taskers and diving deep into data in the marketplace.
When do I pay?
Payment for your first task is taken when a Tasker claims your subscription. This will be within 24 hours of completing the subscription form.
As with any task on Airtasker, when payment is taken from your card, it is held securely in escrow while the task is ongoing. It doesn’t get released to the Tasker until the task is completed.
After your Tasker completes their first rotation of your subscription, they will request payment. Funds will then be automatically released to their account 24 hours later.
The day after your task date, you’ll enter the next billing cycle, where payment is secured in escrow until the next task is completed. This means you will be charged on the same date every cycle. To clarify, this means the following payment times according to your schedule:
- Weekly: debited on the same day each week
- Fortnightly: debited every 2 weeks, to the day
- Monthly: debited every 4 weeks, to the day.
What if I don’t want to release payment?
If you don’t think the task has been completed to your requirements or you haven’t had time to review the work, you can click Pause payment.
This option is only available in the 24 hours after the Tasker has requested payment. Clicking pause will stop the payment process, holding the funds in escrow indefinitely, so they won’t be transferred to the Tasker’s bank account.
When you are happy that the task is complete, you can unpause the payment which resumes the scheduled release. If the originally scheduled release time has passed, payment will be immediately released.
It’s very important that you only unpause when you are satisfied the task has been completed because we can’t retrieve any funds if they’ve already been transferred to a bank account.
We recommend that if you pause a payment, you get in touch with the Tasker to let them know why and resolve any issues. If you need help with this, get in touch with our Support Team. We have specialist mediators on hand to help you come to an agreement.
