Subscriptions are the easy way to get regular tasks done on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. If you haven’t heard of them before, check out our intro article to them here.
In this article you will find answers to the following questions:
- Is there a minimum commitment for subscriptions?
- How do I skip a task?
- How do I cancel the next task in my schedule?
- How do I cancel my whole subscription?
- What else do I need to know about cancelling?
- What happens if my Tasker doesn't show up?
Is there a minimum commitment for subscriptions?
Subscriptions have no minimum cost or commitment. You’re not locked in, so you can cancel your subscription at any time. You can also swap your Tasker or skip a task at no extra cost.
How do I skip a task?
Posters and Taskers have the option to skip a cycle if they’re unavailable. Simply find the subscription under the Bookings tab in My Tasks, scroll down to the schedule list and click Skip next to the relevant date.
You won’t be able to skip the next task in your schedule if payment has already been debited from your card and is being held in escrow. Instead, you will instead need to cancel the individual upcoming task individually.
How do I cancel a task that’s next in my schedule?
To cancel the closest upcoming task:
- Find the date on your subscription schedule and click Manage.
- On the task details page, select the drop-down menu and click Cancel Task.
- Follow the prompts for your reason for cancellation and confirm.
The task will be cancelled when the Tasker clicks accept, or when 48 hours have passed. After that, payment will be returned as Airtasker credit within 1 business day. For information about getting a refund to your payment method, see our article here.
How do I cancel my whole subscription?
Subscriptions are commitment free, so you can cancel at any time. We’d be sorry to see you go though, so remember there are other alternatives! You can choose to swap your Tasker if you aren’t happy with them, skip a cycle if you want to miss a task, or make changes for individual tasks if you need something a little different one day.
If you’re done with your subscription and want to cancel it altogether, simply head to the subscription page and click cancel (at the very bottom of the page). Please note that if you have a task scheduled in the next 48 hours, it will still go ahead unless you and the Tasker decide otherwise.
What else do I need to know about cancelling?
You can cancel or skip your next task without cancelling your whole subscription. You can also cancel the remaining subscription without cancelling your closest upcoming task. But if you need everything cancelled and you have a task due to be completed in the next 48 hours, you will need to go through both processes described above.
What happens if my Tasker doesn’t show up?
Subscriptions are opportunities only made available to Taskers with a history of reliability, so it’s unlikely the Tasker won’t show up unexpectedly. If a selected Tasker’s completion rate drops because of this type of behaviour, they may become ineligible for the subscription program.
In the rare case that your Tasker doesn’t show up for a subscription cycle, please contact us and press pause if any payment has been requested. We will be able to follow up and assist with any cancellations or skips as required.
