What does a Police Check Badge application involve?
The application will involve you participating in an ACIC Police Check which will be processed by our verifications provider, who will report on whether you have any Disclosable Court Outcomes on your record. Most police checks are returned by our verifications provider within 1 to 2 business days.
What criteria do I need to meet to receive a Police Check Badge once I apply?
You will receive a Police Check Badge if:
- You do not have a Disclosable Court Outcome (i.e. you have a clean police history check) as notified to us by our verifications provider; AND
- Your name and date of birth details on Airtasker match those provided for the police check.
We will let you know via email if this is the case.
If your details to not match those returned to us by our verifications provider, we will let you know via email that you are required to update your details on Airtasker in order to display the badge on your profile.
In the case that you do have a Disclosable Court Outcome (i.e. you do not have a clean police history check), the verifications provider will contact you directly to let you know. Airtasker will not be made aware of the result, and we will not display the badge on your profile.
What is a Disclosable Court Outcome?
A Disclosable Court Outcome means that, following an Australian police history check, an individual has a record on their police history, which can be released to the organisation that requested the check. Disclosable Court Outcomes may include:
- court convictions, including penalties and sentences;
- findings of guilt with no conviction;
- court appearances
- good behaviour bonds or other court orders;
- matters awaiting court hearing;
- traffic offences.
Is there any cost to display a Police Check Badge?
There is a cost of $39 to apply for the badge and a cost to renew the badge after it expires.
If you qualify and wish to apply for the IKEA badge, the Police Check Badge application cost will be waived. Please follow the link below to register your interest
How long can a Police Check Badge be displayed for?
A Police Check Badge can only be displayed on your profile for a maximum of 12 months. The last date that the Police Check was verified is displayed on your profile alongside the badge. After 12 months, to continue displaying the badge, we'll help arrange another Police Check for you.
I already have my own police check, can I email this to you and have the badge added to my profile?
At this stage, we are unable to accept any police checks other than those completed as part of our Police Check Badge process.
I have registered my interest but haven't received any follow up information - can you re-send the information?
If you re-register your interest here, a new email will be sent to you. If you do not receive an email, contact Airtasker Support for further information.
When will I receive my Police Check Badge?
Our verifications provider will send you a copy of your own certificate for you to keep. At the same time, Airtasker will also be notified of the result so long as you have no disclosable court outcomes on your Police Check (i.e. a clean record). There is no need to send a copy of your certificate to us.
Once Airtasker is notified of the result directly from our verifications provider, the Police Check Badge will be added to your profile. Please allow one to two business days for this to occur.
Once a Police Check Badge is added to your profile, you will no longer be able to edit your name and date of birth details.
Airtasker reserves the right to amend or remove the Police Check Badge from a member's profile at any time.
