Task information: Alcohol related tasks

From time to time we see alcohol-related tasks posted on Airtasker. These tasks are allowed on the platform, however, it’s important that you’re aware of relevant legislation, if you’re doing these tasks.

The below information is relevant to NSW, Australia, as it has been created per NSW state legislation. If you are outside of this area, please ensure you're aware of and abiding by the local laws and regulations.

In following Liquor & Gaming NSW laws, Airtasker supports the responsible service of alcohol as required under the Liquor Act 2007. It’s against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years and there are severe penalties in place. These penalties include a maximum court imposed fine of $11,000 and/or 12 months imprisonment, or an on-the-spot penalty of $1,100.

You should be aware that it is against the law to:

1.  sell liquor without a liquor licence;

2.  sell/supply alcohol to people who are intoxicated; and

3.  sell/supply alcohol to minors.

It is recommended that you consider the legislation when completing alcohol-related tasks as they may constitute offences under the Liquor Act 2007.

As with all tasks on the Airtasker platform, when completing alcohol supply-based tasks, it’s your responsibility to ensure you have the necessary qualifications and comply with all relevant legislation.
